Great Gulf Rocks Sustainability Inside and Out

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

GREAT GULF ROCKS SUSTAINABILITY INSIDE AND OUT

August 2017 – Great Gulf walks the talk by integrating new sustainability initiatives in the company’s corporate strategy with a focus on Waste Reduction, Recycling and Energy Saving. Already a leader in green building, Great Gulf has set goals to reduce the carbon footprint and make the workplace more sustainable.

The company launched a series of lunch and learn sessions to engage, inspire and encourage employees to champion sustainable measures promoting recycling, power saving initiatives within the workplace and carpooling wherever possible.

“At Great Gulf, we take sustainability seriously, not just with the homes we provide our buyers, but also in how we promote an internal green environment. We appointed Shaun Joffe as Executive Director Sustainability and Building Sciences to implement our corporate strategy”, said Great Gulf President Christopher Wein. “With a highly process-driven approach to conscious home building, we are committed to researching and implementing sustainable technologies and energy efficient innovations to significantly reduce the carbon footprint.”

Great Gulf’s H+ME Technology building science utilizes new techniques for advancing green building performance. An advanced indoor automated manufacturing plant allows roof, wall and floor assemblies to be built as integrated panels in a controlled environment. The H+ME Technology facility is supported by construction visualization, prototyping and fabricating technologies that reduce environmental waste and increase energy performance through the manufacture of tight-fitting building components.

In the low rise sector, Great Gulf has been an industry leader in the Energy Star program with a main focus on the exterior envelope and mechanical designs. H+ME Technology provides engineered panelized floor and wall systems to all low-rise and mid-rise projects with on-time delivery and precision detailing. The high-rise division focuses on project and location specific designs surpassing the Toronto Green Standards requirements. Great Gulf is also a founding member of the Active House Alliance which focuses on comfort, energy and healthy living environment.
